Electrostatic Emperor Angelfish, 2026

Electrostatic Emperor Angelfish, 2026

Found objects (camera parts, watch parts, electronics, transformer wire),  pressure-cast and polished urethane resin.

Framed: 13.5 x 3 in (34.29 x 7.62 cm)
Cast: 9.75 x 1.25 in (24.77 x 3.17 cm)

I’ve never had the pleasure to see an Emperor Angelfish outside of images. They undergo a permanent pattern change from juvenile to adult (ontogenetic color change) and both patterns are quite striking. This pattern reflects the adult fish. It took time to decide whether to place the linear patterns on the top or bottom of the ribs. I didn’t feel comfortable covering the rhythmic pattern of the ribs so here we are.

• Signed and titled on the back with year.
• There may be slight surface imperfections on all casts including small surface bubbles or curved edges. If other notable blemishes exist, I'll highlight with a red circle in the images.
• The cast creature is susceptible to fingerprints, clean with a small amount of window cleaner and a soft cloth.
• Keep out of direct sunlight or high-emitting UV lights.
• Avoid extreme temperatures and rapid temperature variations.
